If I could rate this doctor a -0, I would! I should have read the on-line reviews about her first. My mistake!
I saw Dr. Claudia Gaughf for the very first time a year ago for a routine skin cancer check-up. She rushed me through the exam, not bothering to look at or hardly speak with me. Just ran in, did a quick check, scraped some spots and quickly left. Being a first time patient I expected a little more interaction. She came off as abrupt and rude and I just figured she was having an off day.
I had my yearly follow-up yesterday and once again she rushed me through the exam and was extremey rude. She went off on me about a rash I had developed from my diabetic medication and how I had just made it worse by trying to treat it on my own. I was trying to explain that I had just seen my doctor the previous week and had her change my diabetic meds because this was an unfortunate side affect but she did not want to hear it. After she left I was asking the nurse questions about my prescriptions when Dr. Gaughf stuck her head back in telling the nurse to get next door. The nurse kept telling me I could get dressed and I finally said "I know, you need the room"! She was still working on my prescriptions and charting my visit and I was just trying to understand what medication was for what. I was so confused so I asked the front desk receptionist to please explain things to me, that I had been rushed and had some questions. The nurse came back out and rudely said "what is it you don't understand"? I was getting 2 prescriptions (one local and one called in.
Called in prescription has STILL not been faxed in to Carepoint by Dr. Gaughf's office and it's been over 24 hours), a scar cream (which had to be ordered from another office) and scheduling 2 other procedures which would need to be done at 2 different locations.
They had also moved their office since my last visit and did not bother to notify their Pooler patients so several of us in the waiting room were discussing if we were crazy because we could not find her office.
This office has 3 locations and Dr. Gaughf and her practice are nothing but a fast food version of dermatology, but with lousy service. Quick, unfriendly and rude with no personal connection to their patients.
I had scheduled a few thousand dollars worth of cosmetic procedures but with the way I was rushed through my exam and treated so rudely both visits, I don't feel comfortable allowing her to use a laser on my face!
I'll be canceling my appointments and taking my business elsewhere, somewhere where I'm treated with kindness and respect, like a human being and not just another number.
Guess I'm from a time where that is the norm. But sadly, not these days!

I wish I could rate this Doctor a 0. They performed what I am sure were unnecessary procedures, and then demanded I make an appointment before they could give me a standard refill on a standard medecine.
